Together we will do extraordinary things...

I have to tell you about my highlight of the weekend! I went to see the broadcast of the Relief Society General Conference and as always it was a great meeting. I have kind of a story being a part of this society, when I turned 18 years old I was not very excited about making the transition to RS, I was worried that I would be with the older ladies, talk only about marriage and kids, etc...(I am sure you felt a little the same!)and when I was the RS President in my mission and single ward I was just too young to understand everything I guess. After I got married and had kids was when that I really learned to love it! I have been with the YW for the past 7 years but I always have a chance to watch some of the meetings, do my visiting teaching, participate in Enrichment Nights and other activities. I love to be around the other sisters of the Church, the older ones always have something to help you with, share a experience or advice or give you the best hug ever! The younger ones like me always have interesting stories and things that they are going through just like I am, especially having little kids around. It is in the RS that I learn to be a better wife, mother, and person. I loved watching the Conference, every speaker had a sweet message and spirit, my girlfriends and I took turns with the tissue's box :0)I had two of my favorite parts, first was when Sister Beck talked about when her mother moved away and she was going to be alone, she asked her mom one night before she left, who was going to be her mom now...Her mom answered that RS would be her mother! As you know my mom is in Brazil and my mother in law is in Utah so I could relate with her, my RS ward was really my mother when I had Isaac and he had all of those problems. The sisters here fed my family for at least 30 days, took care of Hannah and Belle while I was at the hospital, came to visit many times and just gave me that hug that I needed so much! I know that being part of this Gospel you are never alone, no matter where you live you will always have friends, wives and moms like you! The other thing was when Elder Uchtdorf spoke about the women in his life and the example that we always tend to focus on the negative things. I am so much like that, I also think sometimes that the recipe can be tastier next time, I can do your hair prettier, I can clean this more, etc. It was great to be reminded that we are all daughters of God with unmeasurable worth! I am so glad that I have the RS in my life, I know the Gospel of Jesus Christ will bring me and my family back to Heavenly Father...
